Do you have an existing tape drive? If so, and it is within the 3 year warranty period since it was purchased you can access firmware.
Otherwise a new drive will give you access for 3 years to new firmware.
Lastly, we can clean and service a tape drive for $400.00 ex GST each and update the firmware. This will give you longer life from your drive and give you the latest firmware. Otherwise HPE tape tools can give you some tools from the link below:
